About Me

Past Training

I have a BACP Accredited Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and I am a UKCP  Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapy (from Re.Vision in London) and I am a member of the UKCP and I adhere to their code of ethics.

More recently I have trained in Embodied Relational Psychotherapy, as I have become increasingly aware of the link between emotional states and the body.

Working more closely with the ’embodied self’ has led me to exploring our place in nature and our connections with the ‘other than human.’ I have trained as a Shamanic Practitioner, and now offer Eco Therapy, working outside in nature in a piece of woodland in the Peak District, and in other venues.

Personal practices

I was a practising Buddhist for over thirty years; these days I wouldn’t describe myself as a Buddhist, but many of the teachings and practices still inform my life and practice.

Over the years I have become more interested in the link between emotional states and the body, and I have an Advanced Diploma in Embodied Relational Therapy.

What is the Work?

We are all wounded in one way or another – through the difficulties of childhood, through our sensitivities to the suffering and cruelty in the world, and increasingly through our awareness of the environmental catastrophe that humans are causing and that we are now living through.

How do we work to turn towards this wounding and bear it differently so that we can live fully in the world, in deep fulfilling relationship with ourselves and others, including the ‘other than human?’.

This is what Psychotherapy is about. Answering the call of the soul to live deeply and fully, not ignoring our pain , but being able to live with it in a way that allows us to take our place in the world. We all have unique gifts and a unique place in the world that only we can fill, and Psychotherapy is about answering this call .
